Chuck,

Do you mind clarifying why you would placed a put on a 3X bull ETF when you are bearish, rather than just buying calls on a 3X bear ETF, and vice versa?

Does it have something to do with the algorithms and price action on the ETF vis-à-vis the index? Or is it simpler than that?
