I didn't miss that point at all, extelecom. Please note that I stated that I do agree with treating convicted criminals differently than ordinary citizens. One of the things that really fries my hamburger is that some on the left think prisoners should have color TV and get to vote. When you become a criminal, you forfeit your right to live like law abiding people. The problem, as I see it, is that while our government says these people are terrorists, they have not been convicted of any crime. I don't think this is right. I do support having the CIA interogate captured insurgents/terrorists and getting whatever intelligence they can from them, but do not support torture. And, no, I don't believe that all persons all over the world have the same rights we citizens of the USA do. The constitution doesn't make such distinctions, though. If a person is being held in jail in our custody, he should be accorded fair treatment.
I am also not missing the fact in evidence that these people (islamic extremists) do not treat our people they take prisoner in accordance with the Geneva Convention. Beheading Nick Berg is a case in point. Governments like Iran and Syria who support such monsters should be held to account. Perhaps a few of their politicians and religious leaders should be made to pay a price for their support?
