Bonanza had all the teaching tools ya need to fend off clues of evil lurking in all the soon to be predictable signs in every day classic predatory lurking, timelessly true forever. Many of the scripts were painfully childish. But that is not where the real action was. Ya had poor gentle giant Dan Blocker condemned to never marrying, as charismatic "Little Joe" compensated in every scene with sprinting energy for his perceived height disadvantage by exemplary casting of short folks. Every brother's time on screen was parceled out to mimic total equal time. To watch "Adam" ( my favorite TV actor of all times) a Shakespearian quality actor, wade through so many awful scripts with his superb ability to sync his aloofness to the demands of being "in touch" with the actual action is a thing of cherished beauty. Adam's departure and arrival of no personality utility Candy, his hired hand replacement was just a tragedy. ..ha a thing I morn daily in the re-runs hoping they find one more missed episode I never saw of "Asam".
