Gene's job is not to keep existing shareholders happy. They are toast.

Gene's job is to keep the doors open and the only way he can do that is through dilution and toxic financing.

Sure, a CEO's job as a SUCCESSFUL biotech is to keep existing shareholders happy, but this is not a successful biotech. This is a Zombie biotech.
