But the unavoidable reality is that, no matter how much a group is doing and how well, if they don’t COMMUNICATE it clearly, consistently, and comprehensively the net effect of the efforts is often neutralized—if not actually made negative over time: when smart and serious people approach analysis in a sustained way, they often come away with a fairly clear idea of how things are likely to look, at least in terms of the gross details. To the extent that those details don’t come out timely (which makes smart people begin to question whether the analysis—which they were actually comfortable with, since they tore the process apart and put it back together in a way that they found coherent and compelling—is actually somehow seriously deficient: why else would there be a delay in revealing what anyone on the outside is likely to see as substantially positive?). Then, if the waters are further muddied by the introduction of ADDITIONAL ELEMENTS before there is anything close to clarity around the elements already under discussion, it only compounds the problem.
