It's hard to put a dollar amount on patents... unless

those patents are integral to the operation and production of it's product... then it could be priceless.

I take it the the $1 - $2 valuation is based on tangible assets vs debts and have not taken into consideration the value of the patents.

One way to take control of those patents is to buy out the company... Lock Stock and Barrel... But if that is the case, it ain't going to be cheap.
