*Ben Responds With COO J.Rice's Clarification: Permission To Export.*

Hi Xxxxxxxx,

I expect that we’ll have some more news out over the coming weeks to provide a little more detail, but, in the meanwhile, I’m forwarding you Jon’s response and please feel free to post it, as I received several communications regards this topic/article.

Readers need to take care to understand that these articles written by and for news outlets in Vietnam are sometimes unable to capture the entirety of a situation and simple challenges such as language translation. The US gov has a vested interest in the interstate transfer and import of GMO but does not regulate the export of GMO. In speaking with USDA officials in Hanoi they asked about and deferred back to our existing Bio-safety certificate that we were already issued through our research program at Notre Dame.

Understanding and overcoming the cultural and business process difference between the two countries has been a core piece of our efforts getting the permits and authorizations to begin work. We already have the bio-safety certificates required on the US side, we are currently in the process of preparing the first batch of silkworm eggs and their associated shipping documents.

On a similar note, any quotes attributed directly to the company, including myself, in foreign news outlets have been processed through translators whom are also capable of adding unintentional variance into the reported quotes. I’ve read several quotes attributed to myself in these papers that are not my words. On several occasions I was credited with naming location and/or impacts of our project that I was not even aware of.

We greatly appreciate the tenacity of all our shareholders and the passion you share with us for our work and the potential impact of our technology. Keep the questions coming, but please appreciate that a half page news blurb isn’t able to fully capture the entirety of this process or all of the great progress we’ve made, working with the officials in Quang Nam and Hanoi, to bring our tech to market.

There is always a lot going on here and its always a challenge to balance the “doing” vs talking about the doing.

The basic take away is this;

· We have our business license and our investment license, I’ve held them in my own hands, for the first phase of the project (investment currently capped $2.2M) with those licenses we can bring in our silkworms and begin working. We’re pushing now to get the second phase investment license that would speed things up and raise our investment cap to $50M.

· Double translation of interview questions proves to not generate the best quotes. I’m surprised sometimes to read what I’m credited with saying. Translated news coverage has a similar challenge.

Cheers,

Jon Rice

Chief Operations Officer
