I hate to tell you this but the correct terminology of traders are you
hit the bid means you are selling to the bid. You LIFT the offering
meaning you are buying the offered side of the maket. To slap something
normally is a negative would you think if someone slapped you that was
positive? I worked in the bond market for years and the terminology I'
just stated is what they used in the bond market. I never heard of
slapping the ask till I got on this board.
