I do agree with your statement but, my experience has been that kind of cycle is associated with a poorly run company with no real revenue.
In contrast; A R/S can be a very good thing for everyone when the company (and companies) in question are producing actual revenue and profitable as we are.
The sell off will not happen, IMO, because there is no fear whether or not the companies are valued correctly.
I believe we will have plenty of room to run up after the dust settles.
