Do you know what this this will mean for humanity when great minds have access to this material? My greatest hope is for neurologists to find ways to regenerate nerves for paralysed individuals.

What would our spider silk thread, fiber or fabric combined with SpideyTek glue be able to replace or accomplish in the maintenance world? Duct tape? Really? Those dumb asses at 3M should already have SpiderTape trade marked and ready for sale.

My son had Tommy John’s surgery performed by the orthopedic surgeon for the Cleveland Indians. They took the tendons out of his left wrist and inserted them into his right elbow to replace the function of his torn ligament. God knows if we had developed a fiber that a reputable medical company could have invented a spider silk ligament or scaffold for repair he would have jumped at the opportunity to be a first recipient. That said he is throwing well for a D-1 school and is academically brilliant.

Point is, the possibilities for our material are as endless as the most brilliant minds the world have to offer.

Introduce metal ions, antibiotics, graphene, other genetic material into the mix and who knows the boundaries of our technology?
