I thought investors in complex technology would have bigger minds than they seem to. But the obsessiveness over one parameter, x nm , has convinced me otherwise. In one of my recent better posts (I cannot understand why it was deleted) I detailed how the node size scale should be considered as the cube root of the volume shrink. The asian shrink from 14nmx14nmx14nm to 7nm x14nmx14nm is therefore, in reality, a net 11 nm shrink..the cube root..I know Phud doesnt know how to use a scientific calculator, but that's what you get if you tap the right keys...and btw, It's actually more like 7nmx 14nmx20nm which is about a 12.5nm shrink. Intel is having trouble , evidently, though I certainly don't trust oracles like Essa, Ragson, Vomit, or (omigod) Demerjian, etal).. but they are trying to achieve 10nmx10nmx10nm .. a full and honest 10nm shrink. If you delve into the complexity side of this there is no comparison... none whatsoever.
