You ask me, all of the spider silk companies with prototypes have yet to release their proposed product on mass-scale....

Agreed. None of these companies have hit their proposed timelines. At least Kraig Labs trouble seemed mostly due to red tape (with some questionable decisions sprinkled in there). I'm hoping we are in the last couple months where it can be claimed that spider silk fibers can't be mass produced.

Now Bolt Threads and Mylo handbags; using Modern Meadow's technology...

Modern Meadows produces animal collagen in the same way Bolt Threads produces proteins. For "Mylo", Bolt threads licenses tech from a company named Ecovative. I'm guessing Bolt Threads used their connection with Stella to get their deal with Ecovative. That seems to be Bolts only significant bargaining chip at the moment. Or maybe Bolt promised to give them premium display space next to their cash registers at Best Made Companys store, you know, the boutique store in NYC that Bolt decided to buy for some reason.
