Pandoras box was already opened. Legalization will happen country wide at some point. How soon remains to be seen. The baby boomer generation are the most against it, but even they (the ones I talk to) are completely for medical at least. I was born in the 80s and the vast majority of my generation is for legalization even of they don't smoke it bc it's a plant that has numerous health benefits and these laws are ridiculous. I want true legalization tho where anyone can grow it of they wish and not need some permit...there is not true legalization if the government and a select few get to grow and poison it with chemicals
