And how do "actual shorts" affect quality stocks? They have to buy back in eventually. My average stock holding period is perhaps a decade. I usually only sell to grab a tax loss and I have no losses currently.

I adore shorts because they keep the market honest and therefore boost good stocks and encourage people to invest.

Too bad more shorts weren't around to check into Theranos a few years ago.
