Renewable Energy and Power Commences Pre-Production Qualification Testing Germicidal LED Light

Renewable Energy and Power Commences Pre-Production Qualification Testing Germicidal LED Light Zero footprint, clinical grade air purification lighting fixture production expected Q4 Las Vegas, NV, June 28, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LED lighting and power solutions company Renewable Energy and Power (OTC:RBNW, or "REAP"), today announced qualification testing of its patent-pending germicidal lighting fixture prototype to determine clean air delivery rate (CADR) and other specifications in advance of production, expected in Q4.

The unique LED Sterilization Panel Light, intended as a low cost alternative to free standing and other types of air purification, combines the benefits of cost saving LED lighting with ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) which safely cleanses air of pathogens while providing high savings, energy efficient illumination.

Each LED light processes 5.3 cubic feet per minute of ambient air, moving it through a HEPA filter to remove particulate matter and passing it before an ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) light to destroy pathogens.

Clinical studies show this process requires multiple passes of the air before UVGI lights, and as each room will have multiple units of the germicidal light, the pathogen cleansing is expected to be far greater than that provided by any single stand-alone unit.

Due to rising levels of global air pollution, a burgeoning global vehicle fleet and increasing incidence of respiratory disease, demand for innovative air purification is growing, expected to exceed $29 billion by 2021 according to recent TechSci Report.

Marketing Plan

While initial market focus will be on the 300,000 facility strong healthcare sector - doctors, dental, pharma - the marketing plan includes hospitality, institutional and consumer sectors.

Besides the qualification testing, other near term milestones are submission of applications and subsequent granting of official certification by UL and DesignLights Consortium (DLC) for eligibility in state and utility energy efficiency rebate programs.

The company plans to complete qualification testing by the end of August and have production units in the market by Q4. "Our market research reveals strong potential demand among our existing customers as well as new markets for air purification integrated with power and cost saving LED lighting fixtures," commented CEO Donald MacIntyre. "The completion of qualification testing will be an important milestone in the commercialization of this unique product."
