Here is what I do know: If you do some preliminary research you will see that the current CEO of AMTRAK is Richard Anderson. He was formerly the CEO of Delta Airlines, Northwest Airlines and former EVP at United Healthcare. He began his career as a lawyer.

Richard Anderson is a business man. He was brought to AMTRAK to increase profitability and streamline operations.

At this point I am sure he is fully aware of XREE and the plan they offer that will greatly benefit AMTRAK. A train from LA to LV is a tremendous opportunity for all involved.

I suspect that he is smart enough to negotiate with XREE who has been at this for years, rather than to give a contract to his nephew.
