US Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) voted in favor of the Farm Bill in a committee vote on Wednesday.
The bill was approved by the committee and the bill is expected to go before the full Senate before July 4.
Sen. McConnell was instrumental In introducing the Hemp Farming Act of 2018 into the Senate Farm Bill.
The hemp bill would remove federal roadblocks to industrial hemp and give Kentucky the opportunity to move to the forefront of hemp production.
