If a company wants to operate a retail facility in Canada they must be licensed. They can still operate via mail order.
The average retail store that sells cannabis is estimated to be between $10 - $12 million per year
The product line consists of both medical and casual marijuana products.
A lot of questions remain to be answered, such as policing law violators. People will be allowed to grow up to 4 plants for personal use. I don't see how they can police that.
This will be a situation in transition for years to come as they fine tune the laws to make them work.
Once the laws is finalized it will be between 2 to 3 months before casual products will be available, looking to September - October. That's a guess.
