I can answer the testing done on the crushed ore question. In my business which deals with large batches we have to take small samples as we process so that we have homogenous sample of the entire lot when done. . If you were to just grab a sample it could not represent the entire lot, might high in one component and lower in another or maybe not have anything in a third. It is the sample as a whole that needs tested.
