They stop using Hydrogen and went to Helium because Helium was non explosive.

But I didn't know about the paint.

That is why PLUG's future relies on what was the cause of the explosion.

If Plug's fuel cell carried any fault then the rush will began to find a less explosive energy source for the fork lifts.
