A few years back Computer Motion and Intuitive Surgical were locked in a series of patent battles. Multiple suits in multiple courts. Hugely expensive for both sides. Looked like Computer Motion, the smaller company, was gaining the upper hand... suddenly MERGER! I don't think anyone expected it to happen, but it made lots of sense and lots of investors ultimately quite happy.

OK. Lilly and Cortex? Come on, Neuro, if Lilly and Cortex were in the final stages of partnership talks, do you really think a Lilly executive would give the biggest neuro-biotech “gossip” any hint that this was happening? I don't think so.

I believe that Lilly is the BP that COR will partner. As you said, Neuro, it makes sense. Indeed, it appeared that Stoll gave a hint at the Bear Stearns Conference that this was so by using Lilly data in his presentation: Gfp's #1179 - “Lilly's LY-503430 (slide 10)- I think this was the first time Dr. Stoll had a presentation slide showing Lilly's phenomenal preclinical Parkinson's results with their AMPA upmodulator. 23 days of dosing showed a dramatic improvement in this preclinical model, demonstrating the huge potential of the high impact approach.” For a such a limited time to present, I still think it is extraordinary that not only does Stoll actually have a Lilly slide, but that he would devote time talking about a Lilly compound.
