CBD is non psychoactive. I do not believe approval will affect any THC products on the drug schedule.

The 2018 farm bill, if approved, even close to as written, will legalize ALL hemp farming and ALL hemp derived products. It will effectively remove hemp and hemp products from the drug schedule. Still won't change THC products on the drug schedule though.

So yes, both are very good signals (farm bill and GW CBD) for eventual legalization of THC based products, and both good signals for changes to drug schedule.

Based only on "GW gets FDA approval for CBD MEd", I disagree "The feds have to reschedule" (at least for anything with any THC in it).

Good news, good progress. Not the holy grail.

While I hope I am wrong about that, this is not the catalyst nor drug schedule change we are looking for. (GREAT with the farming bill if you own hemp based companies though!)
