Hi Buddy.

The usual standard is to pick a gauge with about twice the normal operating pressure. You're probably never going to get a gauge that has a perfectly linear response, but it will vary much less in the middle than in the ends of the travel. Of course, today I would probably recommend a pressure transducer and electrical readout. Those are much more linear and not subject to fatigue. Again, it's one of those little details that add up.
