Well, there're more than 9,000 OTC issuers. Between 60 and 80 move to a national exchange--usually the NYSE MKT, which used to be the AMEX--each year. Not a very high percentage.

Many of them don't make it, and find themselves back on the OTC two to five years later. Most become far less volatile once they hit the exchange of their dreams. Some do enjoy modest price appreciation, but many don't.
