Thanks for confirming the Single Tower CellID. I wrote on this in this forum already that was exactly what was going to happen. The Basestations (BTS) in 2G networks when they see a mobile station come in their management domain, they broadcast out back to the mobile several critical parameters one of which is the CellID (CID). The BTS controls mobile handoffs too so you never are going to get but only a single tower and because it is the BTS telling the handling tower to broadcast to the mobile. It doesnt matter how many towers are in the BTS domain, you only are going to get one tower. The LatLong Coordinates then of that CID is exactly as you confirmed. The location of the tower and not the mobile. Multi-Tower Triangulation in 2G and 3G Neworks is a manual operation triggered via Law Enforcement via a warrant and Emergency Services for Enhanced 911.
