gfp: We are looking at North Carolina. The variety of landscapes appeals to me. From the mountains to the Outer Banks. We have relatives in the state. And very good friends a few hours away in Beaufort, SC. Specifically we're looking at a few smaller towns near Asheville.....Waynesville, Hendersonville, and Brevard. I'm going to be ready for a slower lifestyle. Austin has gotten too big, too fast. The population has grown from about 650 K when we moved here 11 years ago to about 950 K today. Traffic has gotten out of control. House prices are getting more unaffordable. And the libtards that run the city have never met a property tax increase they didn't love. Austin is still better than most big cities. Chicago has more murders in a month than we have in a year. And the winters are mild. We've liked it here. But within a few years we are ready for a change.
