The ARD stock market expert Anja Kohl, who was criticized because of her sideline activities for companies, also appeared on a seminar of the dubious stock market guru Markus Frick in 2006, as it has now become known. According to the participants, she was apparently presented as an ARD stock market expert and talked about the shares of the US company Viaspace. The stock of the company then drastically lost value. It plummeted from 50 cents to eight cents on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and is now trading at 20 cents.

"The stock of Viaspace Inc. has been listed in the Open Market of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since December 8, 2005", says Leticia Adam of Deutsche Börse. The Open Market is known for being very little regulated and supervised and also not very transparent. So insider transactions need not be reported.

At the event in Stuttgart, which was attended by several hundred people, Kohl apparently acted as an ARD expert. Upon request, Markus Frick confirms that, according to his memory, Kohl has "clearly and clearly identified himself as an ARD presenter". Kohl had also asked him that she does not show any photos in the picture gallery on his homepage. Anja Kohl did not comment on request. Tobias Häuser, press officer of the Hessischer Rundfunk, for which Kohl is a freelancer, said that he had forwarded the request from MEEDIA to Anja Kohl "because it concerns the privacy of Ms. Kohl." As a freelance HR employee, she stands "The freeing of moderation activities for other organizers free".

Markus Frick said on request from MEEDIA: "I assumed that the board of Viaspace would introduce the company. When Ms. Kohl stood next to me during the sound check, I was a bit surprised, because I first thought that the ARD wanted to report about the seminar. I did not have any information about the appearance of Ms. Kohl before, "says Markus Frick. And he makes it clear: "She was not paid by us."

A request to Viaspace whether Anja Kohl was paid by the US company for the appearance at the seminar, remained unanswered. An investor who lost a lot of money with the Viaspace share after Kohl's appearance and who then complained to Anja Kohl, the stock market expert answered: "I am very sorry if you have understood my short presentation in Stuttgart as a stock recommendation. This was in no way intended. Basically, this is never part of my job in events. I am very sorry that this has happened to them. Your letter is a personal reason for me to select such events even more precisely in the future. "Anja Kohl also did not receive an opinion on this mail on request.

The fact that Kohl performed in 2006 at a seminar by Markus Frick is not without its problems. Anja Engelland of the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority: "In summer 2007, BaFin conducted an investigation on suspicion of market manipulation with regard to commodity stocks recommended by Markus Frick. She has transmitted her findings to the public prosecutor's office in Berlin from September 2007. "In early October 2007, the public prosecutor's office in Berlin searched various private and business premises of Markus Frick. It was found because of a number of allegations from the spectrum of white collar crime, confirmed Martin Steltner, spokesman for the Berlin prosecutor.

Anja Kohl has recently been criticized for having conspicuously offered positive insurance products in publications. In addition, she has repeatedly worked for companies that she should report independently. Unlike the free play of the markets, public broadcasters do not have the rule that every demand should be served.
