Liar James Clapper now trying to cover for former boss Obama: ‘I’m sure he had no knowledge’ about Trump spy

Serial liar James Clapper, Obama’s former director of national intelligence, appeared on CNN Friday night to tell another whopper.

Clapper claimed with a straight face that there’s no way the former president was at all aware of the “informant” (a.k.a. spy) that he and the Deep State placed inside President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign.

His cover story comes as more people are beginning to figure out that Obama was very likely running this operation Trump now calls “Spygate” out of the White House.

How convenient.

“I am sure President Obama had no knowledge whatsoever of an informant,” Clapper said, adding that the FBI has many informants who play various roles within the department “who provide very valuable information and do so in a legitimate way,” The Daily Caller reported.

On Thursday former White House spokesman Ari Fleischer, who worked for President George W. Bush, said he was positive Obama was fully aware of the Deep State’s criminal spy operation.

There’s no way Obama wouldn’t have known, Fleischer insisted.

In fact, he said, Obama authorized it. He would have had to.

Fleischer dropped his bomb during an appearance on Fox News‘ noon-time program, “Outnumbered.”

The frank discussion was noted by investigative reporter Paul Sperry, who tweeted it out.

“BREAKING: Bush press secretary Ari Fleischer said ‘I guarantee the answer is yes’ to whether Obama knew Halper & others were deployed to spy on Trump campaign. Fleischer explained that no FBI director would put informants inside a presidential campaign w/o the prez authorizing it,” Sperry wrote.

There have been other indications that Obama not only knew but was directing the operation.

Remember that text exchange between FBI counterintelligence No. 2 Peter Strzok and former FBI lawyer Lisa Page, his lover?

In a Sept. 2, 2016, text to Strzok about preparing talking points for then-FBI Director James Comey to give to President Obama, Page said it was important to do so because “potus wants to know everything we’re doing.”

And earlier, we reported that Obama would also have been kept in the loop by his attorney general, Loretta Lynch — who was a lot more loyal to him that Jeff Sessions has been to Trump.

Also, since the spying against Team Trump was set up as a counterintelligence operation, Obama would have been updated regularly via the President’s Daily Intelligence Brief.

Clapper is known for two things: Lying to Congress and leaking to the media, CNN in particular (which helps explain why he’s now working for that network).

Nothing he says can be trusted.
