Memorial Day services around Kentuckiana




– Memorial Day is Monday May 28 and a number of places are holding remembrance services. If you are looking for a service to attend to honor our veterans look no further than the list below.

On Saturday at 10 am. Humana Veterans Healthcare Services, along with volunteers and community leaders, will recognize and honor those who served by placing 25,000 flags spelling out U.S.A. on the great lawn.

On Sunday at 2 p.m. Vietnam Veterans of American, Chapter 454 will be hosting the 20th annual Memorial Day service honoring Iraq victims at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Highland Memory Gardens.

On Monday at Fort Knox the annual Memorial Day ceremony will get underway. The post will honor those who have given their lives to protect our freedom. The time has not yet been determined.

At 9 a.m. at 7th and Arcade the Veterans of Foreign Wars Churchill Downs post 2921 will hold their annual Memorial Day service.

At 10 a.m. the Oldham County American Legion post #39 will host a Memorial Day program to honor vets from the Oldham county area.

At 11 a.m. Cave Hill will hold a Memorial Day service to honor those who have died in the line of duty. Brian Duffy will be the featured speaker.

At 12:45 p.m. Churchill Downs will honor veterans by paying tribute to all who have given their lives.

At 2 p.m. Zachary Taylor National Cemetery will hold their Memorial Day service to honor those who have died in the line of duty.

At 2:30 p.m. the New Albany National Cemetery will hold a Memorial Day service to honor those who have died in the line of duty from southern Indiana.

At 6 p.m. Louisville Bats baseball will be in action evening. They play will be playing Indy and will honor the veterans.

American Legion G.I. Joe post #24lso at 6 p.m. the City of Jeffersontown and Amer4 will host their 17th annual Memorial Day program.
