Interesting little story to tell. I live in the Western NC mountains (pop. of my county about 27k), off on a long gravel road, and I don't have 'city trash-up' so I have to take mine to a 'dump-station'.

Today I pulled into the dump-station and as I threw my bags of trash away I noticed a red pickup truck that had Texas plates parked in front of me. As the gentleman approached his truck, he was an older man probably in his 70's, I asked if I could speak with him for a second. I asked if he was familiar with the Permian Basin, and that started his long list of comments about what is going on out there. He explained that his son works for an oil company out there and keeps him 'in the loop'. He said finding enough employees to fill the job market is very hard to do and that the area is just a total buzz. When I asked if he knew anything about a new refinery for the area he answered, "ABSOLUTELY, it is much needed and anticipated!" In the course of our conversation he mentioned many things, but in the interest of keeping this brief I'll end this with his words, "we all knew this oil boom was coming, but we had NO IDEA it would come so soon and so hard."

FYI - My DD never ends when my money is on the line and I loved running into this gentleman and having him give personal validation to the Permian Basin and the coming refinery. So there it is...right from the mouth of a Texan!
