A reverse split IS bad for an individual stock holder. Although the value is the same upon the split, you lose big time when you sell. Let's say you own a million shares at .0005 for a total of $500. They do a 200/1 split. You now have 5000 shares at .1 but still worth $500. So you are even in vested dollars. Now the stock climbs to .35. your stock is now worth $1,750. If you still had the million shares, that number would be $350,000. That's quite a difference. People will now say, "well you wouldn't have gotten to.35 without the split." Not true...PTO# did it in February...but yes it's rare and we have a huge number of shares available. But this could easily hit .01 without the split. That means your Milly are worth $10,000. Still think a reverse split is no big deal? I think it sucks.
