In all seriousness, the answer is simple and widely accepted in stock market circles, they know they would be throwing their money away.

If they knew that soon they would stun the world with this new fantasy drug they would be buying millions of shares on the open market which would immediately get the attention of the market and everyones stock would explode to the upside.

This is the reddest of red flags and by itself is enough to scare away any savvy investor.

This is going to zero sure as shit.

Definition of stupid: Knowing the truth, seeing evidence of the truth, but still believing the lie.
