"would not mind some explanation"- that is so harsh. Just keep on waiting, and eventually, you know, sometime, in the future, who knows when exactly, maybe over the summer we might hear something.

But some very vague "in the coming months" surely is adequate.
Maybe by early fall.
Isn't that good enough?
