Here is an article about Abbvie and the result of there 5.8 billion purchase of Biotech Unicorn Stemcentrx. The jury is still out on if this will be successful or not but the initial outcomes were not great.

They paid a lot of money for the company and their product did poorly in trials.
Long story short, The big Pharmaceutical companies want the kind of evidence an FDA trial will provide BEFORE they start falling all over themselves to buy PharmaCyte.

I hope someone else knows the answer to your question about trials overseas. I do not know the answer, but if it was easier than the FDA wouldn't every company be doing it. Perhaps getting approved by the FDA and getting operational in the U.S.A. leads to more $, that would be my Guess.
