If Quest wins against Bloomberg Schwab and Interactive Data they will need to pay third party funders and lawyers. Here’s a quote from their 10K from 2016: “Modest licensing fees generated from settlement agreements were paid directly to the funding source pursuant to our agreement with the funding source.”

But a win is a win. There should be a larger settlement from Interactive Data in that they were paying for the patent from Worldlink and hence were aware of and knowingly infringe for a greater period of time.

IF the settlements happen QPRC can then bring suits against other companies with two additional patents and I’m guessing it could be another two year process.

Interestingly, the patents were there for sports betting and sports betting will now become legal in the US.
