Here is another interesting fact. From my reading of the PR, and other information being punted about, I get this picture:
Holders of shares on Oct. 16, 2006 will get 6 new shares for each share they held for a total of 7 shares (ie. 100 shares in your account will soon be 700 shares in your account).
If you buy a share after Oct. 16, 2006, you will not receive any extra shares.
If you sell a share after Oct. 16, 2006 you will not receive any extra shares.
Therefore, depending on the volume of shares traded between now and Oct. 30, 2006 (or whenever the shares are placed in current shareholder's accounts)the amount of new shares actually released into the float may be significantly less than the 600 mil or so stated in the PR.
Also, if it happens as Rufus perdicts, the shorters will now have to buy 6 times as many shares for each share they shorted. That is they will not be able to cover 1 for 1; rather they need to cover 6 for 1.
Should be a very interesting ride if it works out as Rufus wants.
