Gilead is smart. Keep only what they can keep on the cheap as far as the HEPC. Let these other companies spend into oblivion to gain all the market share they want in a dying sector. I am sure they knew with a cure the sector would eventually deteriorate. Keep what one can in that sector and expand into other spaces. Seems simple enough to me. Business is not about bragging rights. It is about profits. Chasing a declining market is not the way.
