Most people have been so focused on the Senate,because the hemp legalization legislation is Mitch Mconnell's Bill and it looks like he is going to call THE HEMP FARMING ACT OF 2018 to a floor vote shortly after The 2018 FARM BILL comes out of committee
However, the House is going to be voting on all amendments to THE 2018 FARM BILL, including Three different hemp amendments, 1 of which is essentially a facsimile of Mitch's Bill, on Tues/Wed/Thurs of this week
Therefore, a full House vote on THE 2018 FARM BILL is slated to occur as early as this Thurs/Fri
If Pete Sessions and the House Rules Committee allow the House to vote on the hemp amendment that is the House version of Mitch's Bill, and that hemp legalization amendment gets attached to THE 2018 FARM BILL in the House, then the House may be the first ones who pass Hemp Legalization on Thursday or Friday
Unless Mitch beats them to the punch by moving THE 2018 FARM BILL out of the Senate Agriculture Committee and onto the floor this week, and Mitch wants to vote on his hemp legalization bill early on in the deliberation process
I think THE HEMP FARMING ACT OF 2018 passing the Senate would garner significantly more media coverage in comparison to the same bill passing the House, because it is essentially being pushed through Congress by Mitch, it is Mitch's Bill, and because Mitch is the face of the Republican Party and they will want to take bigtime credit for being pro-cannabis to win over undecided voters and increase turnout amongst younger Republicans before the midterm elections
But if the House does attach hemp legalization to their FARM BILL, then we may get a sneak peak at the media's reaction to hemp legalization this week
