The rumor about a TGT-KR merger was shot down a while ago. Allegedly the two had some discussions pertaining to pharmacy operations which never amounted to anything.

Just based on what we observe locally, TGT seems to have lost its way while KR is leading the way in the retail grocery biz.

KR beats the competition on price and product selection.

KR investing substantial capital in recent years to take market share away from the competition. We see the results. Many stores renovated and expanded.

Where KR is hit and miss is service. However, I can't single the company out on this point. Most of the other grocery chains have the same issue.
