Looks like the ED docs have steadily accounted for approximately 10 million IR opioid prescriptions per year. Let's say just 10% of those docs start prescribing ADF formulations with #20 doses per prescription. 10,000,000 x 10% x 20 pills = 20,000,000 IR opioid ADF pills per year just from 10% of ED docs. This does not include NP/PA's or urgent care. Obviously, ED docs prescribe significant number of opioids. Because they do not have an ongoing relationship with patients, they have the highest level of motivation to prescribe ADF's.
