"then when this strategy comes good , all shareholders will realize whether or not this very bold and aggressive approach will generate a great return."

We know already that this strategy has failed. A lot of the investments were made in agriculture. Things change. China has opened up to imports and cannot compete. Solomon appears not to have taken this possibility into consideration. Selling shares at a fraction of book value is very rarely a good approach. The pps was some 17 dollars some 8 years ago. There is next to no chance now that the people who bought shares then will have a great return. Those who buy now at 2% of book value may or may not have a great return on their speculation.
