You should not have to bid higher than the ask price.

Only time I have had to do that was for the us equivalent of a Canadian stock (at Schwab add 1/2 cent for the conversion) or if I wanted way more shares than available at the low ask.

To be clear I am selling not buying and have such a small runt position that it won’t show on level 2.

If I could afford to buy all of them, I would not need to buy any of them and I sure wouldn't be spending time on the message boards!
