Thanks for the comment....The link below is to a 2015 article that does a very good job of describing how the "system is gamed" on the short side....I find it fascinating how it all works....It is not as simple as saying FINRA says it doesn't happen. Picture the Rochest Police department trying to fight crime inthe entire United states...They simply donot have the manpower to enforce the system globally. I suggest everyone read the article for some insight into the topic. I think it will be very informative to many here.

I didn't look for a post I put out a few years ago after some research. It was on the topic of the billions of shares sitting on the balance sheets of the giant international investment banking / hedge funds under the "sold but not recorded" entry. Don't quote me on the accounting term, but I think I'm close on it. At the time, Knight Equity, before being acquired had something like $800 million of this stuff on their balance sheet.

Look, I'm not an expert in this stuff, but I find there is enough info out to support the argument that is has continued to go happen despite FINRA'S best efforts...I hope you find this of interest.
