I've come to believe the leading indicator for Neom lies with the burgeoning of QR codes on packaged goods. IMO, this will be indicative of a powerful thrust into mobile advertising. Many of the QR codes will, among other things, connect consumers with the Augmented Reality campaigns I have spent so much time touting. Such AR campaigns will serve to dramatically increase Brand loyalty and awareness while driving curiosity via the "cool" factor.
Of course, we need to keep in mind that Image Recognition can serve equally as effective as QR codes, particularly given that readers are now being directly incorporated into the cameras on handsets.
As I view matters, we are now cycling through a convergence of input technologies which are readying us for a next phase. But I view a rapid increase in QR codes on packaged goods as the visual queue we need before we will receive news. Time..will..tell.......
