In Vietnam I was involved in the gold mineral exploration business and talking to foreign country companies who were producing gold (mostly Canadian companies, a few Australian companies)they all told me they were continuously harassed by the government and the military once they started to produce gold they had to pay them off.

On the other hand, the KBLB project is in a totally different business niche-high tech; perhaps in that business the Vietnamese government/military leave them alone.
