MSNBC Commentator Makes Painful Admission About Trump After Unemployment Hits 18-Year Low

Fellow “Morning Joe” panelist and economic analyst Steve Rattner even seemed to reluctantly agree with Deutsch’s assessment, though he of course added in a caveat.

“I think Donny’s right, it’s a good number, and I think Sara’s right that all of the three key numbers — which are the unemployment rate, the number of jobs added and the wage numbers — are all kind of ‘sweet spot’ at the moment,” Rattner said.

He did note that wages weren’t rising particularly fast, and wondered how long the good economic news would continue.

“While I take Donny’s point, in the fall of 2020, if the economy looks like this, it will be very good for Donald Trump, but it has a long way to go from here to there without some kind of economic bump in the road,” he added.

Deutsch most likely didn’t want to have to admit that, at least as things stand now, Trump was set up well for his 2020 re-election bid.

However, it is worth noting that this isn’t the first time Deutsch has made such an admission, as the Washington Free Beacon reported in February on similar remarks from the economic analyst during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Deadline: White House” program.

That discussion centered around the investigation into alleged Russian interference and collusion with the Trump campaign in the 2016 election, and Deutsch was highly critical of Trump’s administration and their response to the investigation, which he called “absurd” and “obscene,” sentiments the rest of the panel agreed with.

Nevertheless, another panelist — SiriusXM radio host Karen Hunter — pointed out that most voters didn’t really care about those sorts of things and that Trump’s supporters would vote for his re-election regardless.

“I’ll go one better than you, and this scares me,” Deutsch said to Hunter. “If he is not taken out of office,” — “in handcuffs,” interjected Hunter — “He will win again in a landslide, because people vote with their pocketbooks, and that’s what’s scary to me.”

The Free Beacon noted that Deutsch has been a rather outspoken opponent of President Trump and his administration — even referring to the president as a “dictator,” and was reportedly even dating Trump’s ex-wife Marla Maples — but even this fierce critic can’t deny reality.

The liberal media don’t have to like Trump — and it is quite obvious they don’t — but they do need to understand that not everyone feels the same way they do about the president, and many Americans are willing to overlook some of what the media gets hung up on in favor of the bigger picture.

An improving economy, low unemployment numbers, higher jobs and wage numbers, the near-defeat of the Islamic State group, potential peace on the Korean peninsula, decreased regulations, a return of law and order in the courts, a strengthened border — among many other things — all overshadow the things the media gripe about on a daily basis and only confirm to most voters just how biased the media really is when it comes to their coverage of Trump.
