April Instructors Class Successfully Completed

In April, Chief Clifford LeFever, of the Glassport Police Department in Western Pennsylvania, sponsored a less lethal Instructors class for Lamperd’s Pepper Blast product. This class was successfully completed by 15 area instructors from 9 different agencies. These newly certified instructors will be the first in the US under the new training program. They will use Pepper Blast for police-related duties and also introduce the product to their respective school districts as a safe alternative to the use of deadly force when dealing with an active shooter. The program will give teachers and school staff a distinct advantage in surviving an active shooter event and will provide them the option to “Throw and Go!” allowing students time to get away from the hot area of the active shooter. The Pepper Blast device will temporarily debilitate the active shooter until law enforcement can arrive and engage them. The device can also be used in an area-denial role to keep a shooter away from student locations. The training class was conducted by Ed Bogats, Jr. Ph.D. of EJC Security Services, Inc. who is the Master Instructor Trainer for Lamperd Less Lethal.
