I'm just an investor, not someone with a science background, but I have to believe that it pushes things back a fair amount. Would imagine there will be a control arm and that that is the missing piece to believing they can successfully get FDA approval now. As I said in an earlier post, Scarlett said on the last call that the lack of a control arm could be limiting in terms of immediate FDA approval. A Phase 3 seems logical, if not frustrating to short term investors.

I added shares today because a Phase 3 seems like a pretty big slap in the face to much of the short thesis to me. I don't see how JNJ would continue down this path if they didn't believe a Phase 3 could shed final light on Imetelstat with a positive outcome.

In the end, this is also the most sensible outcome. The shorts were right that there wasn't enough to gain FDA approval today; the longs are right that Imetelstat has a ton of promise to be a blockbuster drug. Shorts should start unwinding their positions as I can't really see them holding their short positions for potentially a couple more years. No doubt, a lot of longs will get out not wanting to wait either. Maybe those two opposing forces will counter each other perfectly and the stock barely budges. GERN, I've been following you for 20+ years...you were a pain in the ass then and you still are today.
