A Florida Republican backing a bipartisan bill to make medical marijuana research easier said that House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte has agreed to co-sponsor the legislation, potentially bolstering its chances in the House.
Representative Matt Gaetz said Tuesday night that Goodlatte. a conservative Virginia Republican, was now a co-signer of his Medical Cannabis Research Act. A spokesman for Gaetz said that the measure was to be introduced on Wednesday or Thursday, with its sponsors set to hold a news conference on Thursday.
