What's unknown is when the DOD might act to create a strategic reserve of the drug for DOD personnel who may have to go into harm's way. I believe it's becoming clear that our technology is the best of what currently exists, and while the FDA works with the DOD, they will permit the DOD to order drugs well in advance of full FDA approval. Often drugs authorized for military personnel never reach approval for civilians, even though they're proven effective with our soldiers.
I certainly don't know when the DOD might order product, but I don't believe anyone can say they won't order well before FDA approval. Today is a step closer to FDA approval, but with the new Commissioner, don't bet that proof in a smaller trial couldn't lead to approval if it's convincing.
